In the annual CS Awards ceremony on Apr.29/2006, 
four awards went to PPL students:

Samir Mirza (BS, May'06) received a Michael S. Hughes Award, as a co-author
of the best software package in a class project.

Emily Tse (BS ongoing) received the Sara and Louis Cohen Undergraduate
Scholarship.

Esteban Pauli (MS, May'06) received the SURGE Fellowship.

Sameer Kumar (PhD, May'05) received the prestigious David J. Kuck Outstanding
PhD Thesis Award, in recognition of his contributions to communication
optimizations on parallel systems.
