Project Summary:
This project uses innovations from both parallel and graphics computing to enable
the interactive rendering of very large cosmological datasets. The strategy to
accomplish this is based on the following three factors:
Efficient use of the parallel machine to create compressed representations of the dataset;
Aggressive use of the 3D graphics hardware typically found on modern gaming-capable workstations;
Design driven by the felt needs of scientists currently working on state-of-the-art
simulations.
