This tree, immediately across from Judah Christian School near
Willis Av, Champaign, has leaves that are oddly reminiscent of
diffraction effects. My wife remarked that staring up at the
branches with her glasses *on* reminded her of what they look like
with her glasses *off*, implying that strongly myopic people
experience diffraction effects in their everyday life.

The similarity to wave diffraction is coincidental, of course--
the branches radiate from the clumps of foliage, and the leaves
stick off at right angle from the branches.
