On Haloween day, October 31, 2003, after a traumatic morning
Layla and I decided to visit her grandmother, who was in the
hospital with a staph infection in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Glorious shafts of light shining down from the clouds
were plentiful; and the fall colors were beautiful on the
trip back on November 2.
